Taj Mahal
Taj Mahal, Agra
A UNESCO World Heritage Site and symbol of love.
The Surrounding Complex
The Taj Mahal is set amidst a 17-hectare Mughal garden, known as the Charbagh. The garden's design, inspired by Persian landscaping traditions, symbolizes paradise and eternity. Divided into four symmetrical sections by water channels, the garden enhances the serene ambiance of the site. The complex also includes a red sandstone mosque, a guest house, and an imposing gateway that frames the first view of the Taj Mahal. The Yamuna River flowing behind the monument adds to its picturesque setting, reflecting the beauty of the marble structure in its waters.
